The staff register nurse in the Emergency Department who under the direct supervision of the Emergency Services Director is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating all aspects of newborn, and adolescent, pediatric, adult and geriatric care. Coordinates patient care activities with staff and ancillary services. Oversees the care delivered by LPNs and EMS Personnel in the Emergency Department. Maintains current knowledge of health care issues and nursing practice. Promotes the institution’s philosophy, mission, and values during all interactions with patients, families, staff and others.
Qualifications - Minimum
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current Ohio license. Demonstrated ability to function in emergency situations. Must maintain provider certification in American Heart BLS and ACLS. Must obtain PALS within 1 year of hire.
Minimum of two years current Emergency Department experience preferred. Interpretation of EKG rhythm strips preferred.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with multiple complex demands of relationships on the unit and departmental level, as well as with internal and external customers.
Requires full range of body motion including moving/lifting patients and equipment, manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination. The physical demands of the job range from medium to heavy. Corrected visual acuity (including the ability to discern colors) and hearing required. Ability to cope with stressful conditions.
Hours per pay period: 48
Hours: 7:00am to 7:30pm
Every other weekend;
Every other holiday;
Must be able to read basic EKGs.
