Dura-Line Lead Quality Technician in Elyria, Ohio

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Facilitate and assist in the Quality Assurance, document control, and safety functions at the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Support Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager in scheduling/management of all equipment calibrations
  • Manage schedule of Quality Control Technicians
  • Conduct training for new Quality Control Technicians
  • Prepare Certification of Compliances as requested
  • Inspect product during the extrusion process using calipers, micrometers, pi tape, weight scale
  • Compare product with customer specifications
  • Make decision on product status, mark type of defect
  • Document information on work order
  • Inspect and tag reels
  • Test incoming raw material and conduit, and record date
  • Operate diagnostic equipment needed to perform job
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area
  • Follow all safety requirements
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned or required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum four years of experience in quality/inspection procedures
  • Computer proficiency

OCCUPATIONAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to learn and use laboratory and inspection equipment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to recognize color spectrum
  • Fully mobile from one manufacturing area to another
  • Able to step over and/or bend under objects
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work flexible shift as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in manufacturing environment and inside quality control laboratory

  • May include outside conditions in all types of weather.
