Position Title: Engineer 2-4, Controls Vehicle (Electronic Air Control)
Reports To: Engineering Manager, EAC

Exemption Status: Exempt
This position is responsible for design, development, application and testing of Electronic Air Control products and features for commercial vehicles.
Develop and modify control system logic to support Electronic Systems, including electronic air control and electronic parking brake control systems installed on commercial vehicles
Software development responsibilities include: software parameter definition, prototype software code generation and software component verification
Support/lead the application of Electronic Systems for OEM customers
Calibrate vehicle control algorithms to meet customer expectations
Develop and execute technical plans (analysis, simulation, vehicle test) to validate system installation and parameter tuning
Travel to test track, winter test facility and customer demos to support algorithm specific development and testing
Provide technical support in troubleshooting escalated field issues.
Analyze and document results from simulation and test track experiments
Maintain and improve Hardware In the Loop (HIL) simulation systems for current and future development needs
Benchmark competitive systems
Interface with Software Developers, Systems Engineers, and customers to create and revise control system requirements.
Drive the improvement of application processes and engineering tools
Broad automotive and electronic systems knowledge, preferably related to commercial vehicles.
Strong technical knowledge and project management knowledge and organizational skills.
Vehicle dynamics knowledge and familiar with vehicle simulations such as TruckSim and CarSim
Experienced with electronic microprocessor base controls systems for pneumatic systems
Six Sigma or statistical tool usage for troubleshooting
Familiar with tools for engineering analysis and simulation, such as MATLAB/Simulink
Familiar with CAN communication protocol and using CAN analysis tools, such as CANalyzer or CANape
Familiar with dSpace, ETAS or other simulation interface hardware.
Engineer 2 = 2+ years of experience; Engineer 3 = 4+; Engineer 4 = 6+ years of experience, preferably in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
Commercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness & capability to obtain CDL within a year of employment
Estimated up to 20% travel (test track, winter test, customer locations, internationally), including supporting multi-week testing off site.
Individual must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card Holder
Ideal candidate is able to lead a team of people to achieve project milestones or implement customer requirements.
Able to handle multiple conflicting priorities and interface with sales, marketing, and engineering
Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members
Knowledge and experience with product quality tools such as system FMEA, DVP&R, ISO 26262 and Functional Safety Concepts.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a team environment
Ability to effectively communicate with others, within and with diverse cultures, both independently and within teams and with cross-functional teams in coordinating and prioritizing developmentComfortable & effective communicating with customers
Bachelor Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering required. Focus on Control systems preferred
