Oracle Site Reliability Engineering Director in Independence, Ohio

Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology.

Manages teams supporting and/or implementing large and/or complex multi-functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. Develops and manages an effective risk mitigation strategy for the project(s).

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Successful track record in the specialism and as a manager. Detailed knowledge of technical and business concepts of a number of related applications areas. BA/BS degree preferred.

ProductionEngineering & Operations SRE team focuses on service availability andoperation efficiency by delivering automation and monitoring platforms andproviding escalation support

Pioneer & plan new technology deployments in PE&O(Architecture & Design Consultation)

Collaborate with Product Development on emerging products as partof the product quality improvement process

Provide technical support with emphasis on availability andreliability

Provide leadership for PRR (Production Readiness Review) inPE&O

Provideautomation platform for existing services and operational activities* *


You will be in aglobal internal support team to:

  • Evaluate, innovate, develop, and support any variety of internal PE&O automation systems geared to produce efficiency at scale

  • Able to differentiate and articulate the difference between good and bad design at numerous levels

  • Provide internal production system support

  • Design production architecture, migration/upgrade solutions

  • Participate in projects and influence project directions in compliance with PDIT technology standards

  • Create and adjust PEO standards related to various automation and orchestration technologies

  • Help development team to improve Oracle product quality

  • Research new technologies across technology stacks and infrastructure layers


As part of this team,your responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in production system design/architecture

  • Ensuring production system stability and availability

  • Planning, developing and implementing production system migrations/upgrades

  • Participating and influencing project direction in compliance with technology standards

  • System debugging and performance tuning

  • Working with development teams closely to improve Oracle product quality

  • Researching and Developing new technology solutions



  • DEGREE/MAJOR Graduation mandatory (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related BS/MS degree)

  • Master s Degree preferred

  • Any Unix/DB/Storage certifications are an asset but not required

Technical Skills

  • 10-15 yearsworking experience developing / tuning / supporting enterprise systems

  • 5-10 years as a systems engineer, systems architect, or technical lead

  • Strong Linux/Unix production system administration experience is a must

  • Ability to convert conceptual architectures into functional applications and infrastructures end to end, including Prototyping

  • Ability and experience mapping stakeholder needs into functional requirements

  • Strong ability to anticipate emergence at scale in complex systems

  • Experience in systems integration. Understands system end-goals: usability, efficiency, availability, reliability, scalability
