Kelly IT Resources is currently seeking a System Administer for our client in Cleveland, Ohio.
Support and administer enterprise storage and VMware based hypervisor infrastructure. Install, configure, and manage enterprise storage equipment. Perform daily management tasks in support of the production VMWare environment, building new ESX servers, installing new compute and storage infrastructure. Storage VMWare administrator will work closely with the application development teams and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Support the adoption and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems where applicable. Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. Acquisition Deployment Deploy servers, storage and related hardware/software. Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, standards and service provisioning. Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT Windows, VMWare Contact Center infrastructure and related IT systems. Operational Management Administer/Manage all virtual server, storage and related hardware/software in support of enterprise business applications. Administer/Manage backup/recovery and disaster/recovery operations in support of all related business applications. Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.. Handle security user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Perform server, storage and operating system security audits. Perform and test system backups/restores and disaster/recovery processing. Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, storage and related technologies. Escalate incidents as necessary. Practice hardware/software asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance. Create required reports in response to business user needs. Maintain documentation for policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use. Support system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance. Incidental Functions Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
Experience & Education Requirements
5 + Years of IT experience Bachelor s Degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience. Strong technical knowledge of VMWare and associated virtualization technologies. Strong technical knowledge SAN and Storage technologies hardware, protocols, standards and related technologies
