Working under general direction of line of business finance, responsible for managing operations and administrative support for a group of local business units. Manages and oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, process review and improvement, and other functions enabling the Area and local business units to meet objectives in an effective and efficient manner. This role is a combination of financial and operational oversight.
Works with management team(s) to identify, develop and implement strategic plans to achieve goals, including staffing, operational and financial analysis, reporting and planning.
Implements actions for improvement and practical solutions as approved by management.
Responsible for business metrics, strategic analysis of project resources, developing processes and standards to streamline overall business operations.
Conducts special financial and business studies and other duties as assigned by management.
Acts as key financial and logistical liaison and/or resource between management to either: an LMA (Local Market Area), business unit, large department or work group . Oversees financial reporting, budgeting and forecast for area including:
Produces routine and ad hoc financial reports, packages and pro forma analyses for management and business unit to support Area and local market leadership.
Prepares reviews and monitors data reports including Accounts Receivable, project and related revenue pipeline and other business metrics.
Analyzes income and expense trends to identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Directs research and analysis of local market financial operations to ensure that activity reported is appropriated and is in appropriate departments.
Makes recommendations on revised controls and implements actions for improvement.
Oversees submission of reports/request deadlines.
Coordinates work with other departments.
Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex inquiries and requests from internal and external clients. This will involve coordinating with either internal or external clients, line of business and client finance and accounting, other business units, HR and recruiting, regional and office business operations, and marketing.
Provides updates relative to project resource and fiscal plans.
Leads and facilitates communication of best practices, policies, procedures and initiatives to support field and LMA operations and line of business line leadership.
Ensures shared knowledge to implement process improvements.
Facilitates process improvement by engaging appropriate resources in issue identification and resolution.
Prepares and provides training and reference material to assist users.
May train new team members on policies, procedures, processes, administration and governance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Interfaces with Regional Business Operations to ensure billing, expense reporting, marketing and administrative supports tasks occur consistently and timely.
Prepare Business Case for staffing requisitions and perform or oversee and coordinate with Office Services to include requisition creation in myRecruit, recruiting oversight, onboarding tasks, coordination of new employee IT needs and first day logistics (orientation and w9 verification handled by Office Services Managers).
Directly or through Office Services, communicate with new hires on status of hiring and background and first day items, coordinate onboarding to PJM specific role, primary contact for initial payroll, benefits questions and assist Directors/supervisors in same.
Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
Provides input for performance appraisal for staff supporting business in BusOps.
Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.
Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four year college or university plus a minimum of three years related work experience to include budgeting, finance and or business analytics; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Team Lead related experience preferred.

Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Spreadsheet skill set to include advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, macros and database management required.
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.
Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
