Eaton, in Beachwood, Ohio, has an opening in the Corporate Finance function for a

Manager - Sector Trade Credit.

The Manager - Sector Trade Credit manages and coordinates respective Sector receivables by ensuring application of all trade credit and collection procedures and policies worldwide ultimately driving improvements in the quality of the global receivable asset. These improvements are achieved through:

  • Revenue chain enhancements

  • Governance and integration of receivable management best practices

  • Generation of monthly operating reports on global receivables for respective Sector CFO’s, respective country and regional CFO’s and Corporate Executives

  • This function has the responsibility to maximize profit for the Corporation by assuring that the overall investment in and turnover of accounts receivable and the bad debt losses experienced by the Corporation are maintained at the lowest practicable levels consistent with the Corporation's Strategic and Profit Plans

Essential Functions:

  • Directs the administration of Eaton’s global trade credit policies and procedures that guide how the division/subsidiary controllers and/or credit managers operate

  • Drive improvements in the assigned sector worldwide receivable assets through revenue chain enhancements

  • Governance and integrations of best in class worldwide receivable management practices for respective sector

  • In conjunction with operating businesses credit and collection and marketing departments, visits external customers to develop and implement trade credit arrangements to accommodate division marketing goals while protecting the Corporation's investment in accounts receivable

  • Distressed Accounts Receivable - Responsible for accounts in collection globally. Coordinates activity for worldwide facilities related to recovery of outstanding amounts due from customers, vendors and others who are unable and/or unwilling to make payment to Eaton on a timely basis.

  • Negotiates strategic trade credit terms and risk mitigation techniques to support the Corporation’s revenue growth objectives

  • Advises on the adequacy of the allowance for doubtful accounts and recommends the provision to be accrued by the division or subsidiary in accordance to the Corporate Financial Policies

  • Partners with Supply Chain to drive working capital improvement with strategic accounts by ensuring equitant or competitive DSO vs. DPO cycles


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in varied corporate financial management activities, including trade credit, general accounting, auditing, banking and borrowing relationships, combined with specific knowledge of the operations and functions of the Corporation on global scope

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with making major trade credit decisions, install and maintain financial arrangements for key corporate accounts.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Position Criteria:

  • A high degree of technical proficiency is required in financial analysis, the Uniform Commercial Code, GAAP, secured transactions, bankruptcy law, and loan workouts

  • Must have the ability to control the Corporation's exposure to financial loss as a result of trade credit-granting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
