ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)
The Consumer Checking Acquisition Product Manager II reports to the Group Manager, Checking and Fee Income Products and is accountable for leading efforts to drive high quality new household growth at KeyBank. The role is responsible for designing and implementing strategies and tactics (e.g., sales, marketing, risk) to drive new checking account growth while also optimizing early month on book onboading of newly acquired clients. In addition, the role will support the design of compelling new payments products and features to attract new households to the bank. Success in role will require demonstrated proficiency in marketing and analytics along with a with a proactive bias for action.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for new checking production units and consumer household growth
Collaborates with marketing, branch network and digital channel to identify and implement annual acquisition roadmap and associated tactics (e.g., IC Plans, marketing plans, sales tactics)
Partners closely with Marketing to co-own annual checking marketing plans, analyze results and identify opportunities to optimize marketing performance and investments
Designs new client onboarding tactics across channels to optimize early month on book engagement (months 0-6)
Leads checking production and household growth forecasting and associated plans in coordination with various product owners, Client Insights and Finance
Develop KPIs and performance scorecards along with weekly and monthly reporting that encompasses impact drivers to ensure product performance is met
Prepares monthly business reviews to highlight results and insights, complete with actionable recommendations.
Help establish deposit fraud metrics to ensure early fraud/charge-off (first 6 months) is in line with expectations
Optimizes acquisition account approval criteria to drive profitability (ChexSystems, Day 1, Day 2 processes)
Identifies and implements experience improvements to champion operational excellence, client satisfaction, and employee satisfaction with checking account origination and onboarding processes
Assess competitive landscape, industry trends and market demand as it relates to new checking products and services, including driving research needs.
Supports design of compelling new checking product solutions and acquisition strategies to drive household growth – in line with Financial Wellness and future direction of payments business.
Drive the technology requirements for new product enhancements, including appropriate test planning.
Lead teams cross functional teams - Sales and Marketing, Client Experience, Branch and Call Center operations, Technology, Legal and Compliance - to ensure timely delivery of product management projects
Adheres to product policies and regulations to ensure all legal, compliance and audit standards are fully met.
Ability to work on multiple projects at once and prioritize delivery based on key objectives.
- May serve as a project manager on consumer product related projects across various channels (Online, Branch, Call Center, etc..)
3 to 5 years of experience managing product strategy in banking/ financial services or related industry (e.g., management consulting)
Understanding of Retail Banking products and consumer segment needs
Undergraduate degree in a business related field or equivalent experience
Experience designing and implementing marketing plans (ideally across physical and digital distribution channels)
Strong financial acumen via demonstrated experience with forecasting, balance sheets, and income statements
Robuts analytical mindset and critical thinking skillset – including advanced knowledge of Excel.
Strong knowledge of PC tools (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc).
Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work within a team environment..
Strong presentation and Powerpoint skills
Direct product P/L responsibility
Experience with Lean Six Sigma
